Team DevelopmentRecreational Team Building Events at RockVentures
Recreational Sessions are 3-5 hours in length. A professional, neutral faciliitator, guides discussion on goals, expectations and reinforces our challenge by choice philosophy. Floor problem solving with debriefing often encourages participants to consider behaviors and goals here and relate them back to their organization, work, or study sites. High ropes course, Rappelling, Leap of Faith and other learning modules may be included. Your place or ours.
Educational Sessions are half-day to multi-days. These customized Seminars are offered here AND at other locations. Adventure Truck Construction and Racing, Survivor, Scavenger Hunts, Pirate Themes, Wine Country Tours, White Water Rafting are examples of selections. Shared Adventures Seminars may include one to multi-day sessions. A team looking to gain an appreciation of one another’s communication style, abilities, and personalities should select this option. Company culture, language and goals are studied and woven throughout these sessions. Some of the end products include: Mission Statements, Points of Culture, Strategic Action Objectives and Individual Professional Plans for carrying out agreed upon goals. Our professional facilitators are certified to use Shared Adventures curriculum. OutComm Visual Mapping(tm) includes neutral “guides”, and playful consensus-decision making to achieve powerful, long-lasting results. The DiSC Behavioral Profile is often administered in advance and results are used to gain appreciation for one another’s differences and strengths. Visit Shared Adventures for more information (www.sharedadventures.net).
Recreation or Education?
Consider the following questions:
1. What are your team goals?
2. What are the barriers or potential barriers to achieving these goals?
3. Numbers of people?
4. Date, day and time for teambuilding (educational seminars should be minimum of 4-5 hours; not including break times)
5. If we could guarantee improved communication, cooperation, trust, appreciation of one another’s different styles and communication preferences would this be more valuable than a play day here?
6. Would it be useful if we came to you? Other locations have included: University of Virginia, Development Office Retreat, in the Shenandoah Mountains; Strong Hospitals' Cardiovascular ICU Team with a two-day session at Black Creek Park, Combat Veterans in the Adirondack State Park, College Relationship Seminars in Colorado, Annese and Associates within the Lodge at Welch Allyn, Skaneateles.
7. Can you guarantee your group attending on time, staying the entire time, turning cell phones off, 100% participation even if some choose not to climb?
8. If adventure is not your Team Thing...would members consider scavenger hunts, white water rafting, building and racing adenture vehicles against one another, creating solar cooking devices out of satellite dishes and tinfoil; or other options?
This information helps us to customize a Team Creation Seminar or to simply schedule a recreational option like Introduction to Climbing and/or a Ropes Course with Rappelling adventure. Thank you for considering these questions first; then let's explore more together!
